We were delighted to participate in this year’s NonStop TBC by the Sea event, which took place late in September in Monterey, California.  TANDsoft was a sponsor and exhibitor at this event, where we were celebrating 50 Years of HPE NonStop.

This event was truly enjoyable and highly productive for TANDsoft. We were able to have a lot of great conversations with our customers,  partners, and HPE representatives,  and had the opportunity to introduce our solutions to many attendees.

FS Compare and Repair One of Our Featured Solutions

Today, many teams need to ensure that the various disaster recovery and failover systems they have in place remain in sync with production instances. Further, for their business-critical systems, it is vital that they have the ability to do these comparisons fast and at a large scale.

At the recent event, we featured a solution that can help teams achieve these objectives. FS Compare and Repair offers fast, advanced capabilities for ensuring nodes are kept in sync at all times. The solution employs block-level hashing technology that delivers speed and scalability. In tests, the solution compared 10,000,000 records in 13 seconds and a 1 TB multi-partitioned file in 10 minutes.

FS Compare and Repair can validate and repair HPE NonStop Enscribe files, OSS files, and SQL/MP and SQL/MX tables. Quite simply, with the solution, your organization can compare high volumes of files with lots of data—and do it quickly.

Solution Now Features Enhanced Precision, Flexibility

TANDsoft has introduced a new feature that builds upon these advantages to provide even more precision and flexibility. With the solution, customers can now make comparisons, repair, and load specific key ranges. For example, an administrator could:

  • Compare a specific record, such as customer number “1234,” between tables in production and disaster recovery systems.
  • Compare all customer card numbers between “4520” and “4530.”

Prior versions of the solution offered capabilities for comparing and repairing entire partitions, which could consist of thousands of rows. Now, in addition to this partition-level comparison, users can also do key-range comparisons. This new key range feature offers more granularity and flexibility, making it practical to use the solution in many more scenarios. Plus, this new capability saves teams time when they need to compare specific key ranges rather than entire partitions.

Many of our customers have requested this functionality, and we’re happy to continue to enhance the solution to deliver more value. Employing this new capability is very simple: Operators set the range using the solution’s first-key and up-to-key configuration settings.

Free License Now Available

At this year’s TBC by the Sea event, we offered attendees the opportunity to gain access to a free license of FS Compare and Repair.

If you missed the event, the good news is that we’ll still provide you with the same offer. This free license gives you a way to try FS Compare and Repair in your environment and see the solution for yourself.

The free license provides a subset of FS Compare and Repair’s full functionality. With the limited version, you can verify that all your production and disaster recovery nodes are in fact equal.

FS Compare and Repair: Part of Our Family of Products

FS Compare and Repair is just one of the solutions TANDsoft provides. Here’s an introduction to some of our other offerings:

  • FileSync. To meet their continuity objectives, many organizations rely on FileSync, our pioneering replication and synchronization solution. FileSync employs a block-level approach that offers speed and scalability. FileSync automatically monitors, replicates, and synchronizes all files across all nodes.
  • FS Backup and Restore. Most OLTP payment environments suffer considerable delay and network overhead from backups that drag on for hours. With FS Backup and Restore, teams can reduce those times to minutes. This solution detects file data block modifications and saves them to disk or archives them to the HPE backup utility. The solution can quickly retrieve saved modifications from the disk and apply them to recreate the original file contents. Additionally, the solution provides continuous data protection (CDP) capabilities that enable rapid recovery from a ransomware attack.
  • OPTA2000. OPTA2000 provides date, time, and time zone simulation for all NonStop applications and databases. The solution makes it easy to test all your date- and time-sensitive logic—without having to change system clocks or modify your applications. In addition, with OPTA2000 you can have applications executing in multiple time zones, while running on a single server.
