This year, organizations around the world faced accelerating threats to their essential data, new emerging regulations (such as DORA), and greater demand for hybrid cloud integration and data immutability.
For mission-critical HPE Nonstop environments, those pressures translated into a single imperative: make data recoverable, consistent, and available, even under the worst of conditions. Gravic spent 2025 working hard to meet that ever-growing imperative.
New Products
- Shadowbase Zero Data Loss (ZDL):
- Shadowbase ZDL provides Synchronous replication protection so that no committed transaction data will be lost in the event of catastrophic failure of the source production environment (RPO=0).
- This is an important innovation for customers that simply cannot lose any data, ever. Unfortunately, most customers use a form of Asynchronous replication and do not realize that they can, indeed, lose data when a failure occurs.
- How much data? Perhaps a lot, all based on your replication latency. Think about it – at 5000 TPS, 1 second of replication latency means you can lose 5000 transactions worth. 2 seconds of replication latency, 10,000 transactions lost.
Contact us to discuss your needs and how Shadowbase ZDL can help you protect your high-value data.
- New Shadowbase Compare Wildcarding Parameters:
- “Awesome feature” for Enscribe files and SQL/MX tables that dramatically reduces configuration time by using wildcards.
- For example, “*” will include a specific system / volume / subvolume and file names (other wildcard features are available for matching and filtering as well).
- Shadowbase for Other Servers 6.810:
- Released with array-based target processing to enable enterprises to use high-latency cloud environments, faster database loading performance, improved latency reporting and DOC I/O statistics, and several new features that ease cloud integrations and tuning for high-volume environments.
Upcoming Products
We are actively working on a variety of key new solutions in the following areas:
- Heterogeneous Compare:
- Called Shadowbase Compare Plus, we are extending our innovative Compare technology to include comparing Nonstop databases (Enscribe, SQL/MP, and SQL/MX) with off-platform SQL databases.
- This is a stand-alone product that leverages the capabilities of Compare such as parallelism and repair, to allow verifying and validating any environment where you maintain copies of data in differing databases and formats.
- Shadowbase ZDL – Release 2
- Adds in bi-directional support and additional capabilities to our new synchronous replication product (which currently supports Enscribe and SQL/MP).
- Shadowbase Digital Resilience
- A new product to address the burgeoning malware/ransomware threats facing businesses. A
- rchitectures include “simple” data vaulting and immutable storage on up through Rapid Recovery Servers with fully built out production environments.
- Shadowbase DoLockStep
- DoLockStep enables coordinating application and replication processing so applications can verify that data has been safe-stored or applied at the target before proceeding with critical actions on the source.
- It’s also positioned as a modern upgrade for RDF’s DOLOCKSTEP capability.
- More extensive Shadowbase Data and Application Integration
- New adapters to easily integrate Nonstop data and environments with Splunk and myriad cloud-based environments.
- Future Innovation
- Further down the road, we plan on directing our focus towards Malware Detection and Prevention, ZDL Releases R3 & R4, pursuing new Splunk and Cloud APIs, and more.
