LightWave Client:
Open APIs are becoming increasingly relevant by the day. LightWave Client became available to customers in June 2017 and still thrives today. In fact, 66% of NuWave’s customers use LightWave Client. LightWave Client helps modernize and maintain HPE NonStop-hosted legacy applications by allowing these applications to act as a client and securely access REST Web services located anywhere, on any platform or operating system. Users can integrate external REST services as well as leverage existing REST services within the enterprise intranet. LightWave Client is secure, fault-tolerant and provides users with performance monitoring solutions while increasing the value of NonStop applications and data.
LightWave Server:
HPE NonStop hosts applications critical to business’ core functions. These crown jewels, though, typically have minimal exposure to internal systems and third-party applications. Well, fret not, LightWave Server provides a manageable and secure interaction with these applications through a REST-based interface! LightWave Server became available to customers in October 2016. It is NuWave’s most popular product, having 90% of our customers using it today. LightWave Server allows users to expose their HPE NonStop-hosted applications as industry standard REST services. These services can be accessed from REST-enabled clients running on virtually any computing platform. LightWave Server maintains security, reliability, and scalability of HPE NonStop server and applications. This solution bridges a gap between legacy systems and modern, flexible web technologies whilst maintaining HPE NonStop fault-tolerant systems.
COMING SOON:
SOAPam Compatibility Mode
We can say R.I.P. to SOAPam products by September of 2024, but celebrate their reincarnation in LightWave Products.
LightWave Client now has SOAPam Compatibility Mode as of October 2023, and LightWave Server SOAPam Compatibility Mode is in the works! This means existing SOAPam customers can easily migrate to LightWave without having to modify the existing applications. This feature provides an upgrade path for existing SOAPam applications including statistics, request/response stream protocol and message dump support.
LightWave Client is implemented to emulate the SOAPam Client IPM interface when running in compatibility mode, and LightWave Server SERVER/SWORKERS processes will emulate SOAPam Server operation.
Authentication Exits:
LightWave Product Authentication Exits are on the way!
This feature provides a complete solution for request token management for LightWave Client applications. LightWave Client can be configured to fetch tokens from a customer-provided Pathway server and include them in each REST request. LightWave Client does all the grunt work. LightWave Client manages fetching and caching tokens, adding the tokens to each request, and fetching new tokens when the cached tokens expire. In fact, any token that can be supplied as a HTTP header or query parameter is supported! The LightWave Server solution for authenticating via an external identity provider, Authentication Exits, no longer limits users to authenticating only against the LightWave Server user store. Users can now authenticate with external identity providers using OAuth2 bearer tokens, JWT, or custom authentication tokens.
57% of NuWave’s customers use both LightWave Client and LightWave Server, and of those who use LightWave Client, 14% of them already have SOAPam Compatibility! These products have been used by our customers for solutions such as: real-time currency conversion, automated testing, card-based management, service management and so much more.
