The Nonstop Compute platform has become a reality. Following a number of important conferences the Nonstop Compute community has hit the pause button as with the turn of another calendar page, the Northern Hemisphere’s summer has arrived. The heat that has accompanied this change of season is proving hard to ignore. It’s a hot time, indeed; an oppressive hot time across most of Europe and North America. Even as we consider the warmer weather it’s also a time to reflect on just how hot a commodity the HPE Compute platforms have become, none more so than the latest editions to the Nonstop Compute line of converged systems.

E-BITUG 2025 held early in June was complemented by HPE Discover 2025 later in the month. Whereas E-BITUG was Nonstop focused, HPE Discover always brings with it a much broader take on where the industry is headed. More specifically, where enterprise IT is placing its bets. In looking at the numerous news headlines that followed, the talk of the event was heavily skewed towards AI. In particular agentic AI – a reference to AI systems that themselves set goals and plan actions, executing these activities with only minor levels of human intervention. You can say that agentic AI was THE hot topic of the day where the messaging truly sizzled.

Whenever conversations turn to AI in any form, it soon becomes all about the data and where the data is sourced – how fresh, how clean, how secure. For the Nonstop community, where mission critical data is created and where it is unlikely AI will be directly implemented, this recognition turns quickly to one of moving data. Replication in real time is now at the heart of such conversations.

According to Steve Burke of the publication CRN, reporting during HPE Discover 2025:

“Ambition is the defining element of human innovation.
It is why society advances, how industries are disrupted,
and the reason everyday life is transformed. AI is now making
your ambitions a reality faster than ever before, and our mission
has never been more important as we stand at the edge of a
new renaissance: the AI era. An era defined not just by smarter machines,
by intelligent possibilities in how we live, work and create.”

Not unexpected, this recognition of data movement through replication together with the need for Nonstop solutions to integrate with processes as much as with databases, became central to the E-BITUG Plenary Session of NTI. Following a lively Early Bird Welcome, hosted by NTI, E-BITUG provided NTI with the opportunity to participate in the first morning’s keynote and plenary sessions. This gave the company a better opportunity to address a much larger audience than has been afforded NTI in the past. The theme of this session provided insights into new customer deployments, new cooperative vendor relationships and a first-look at a much broader product portfolio.

Among the key deliverables in this regard – and these were highlights in the delivery of this plenary session – was the testament of NTI customers, the inclusion of references to Nonstop customers moving to DRNet® of which two new customers proved newsworthy coming from regions as far apart as LATAM and AsiaPac. Building too upon an active partnership with TANDsoft the Nonstop community was introduced to a new NTI’s partnership with Infrasoft. In recognition of the impact AI – including the potential benefits delivered by agentic AI – the most important announcements by NTI continue to include DRNet®/Unified for GoldenGate Conversion but now, more comprehensively addressed with new product features, DRNet®/Kafka and DRNet®/Gateway courtesy of Infrasoft, are offering a modern solution to real time data integration.

When it comes to further updates on DRNet®/Unified for GoldenGate Conversion, “The special sauce in this case that makes DRNet® a destination of choice for BASE24 GoldenGate users seeking less complicated and faster conversions is directly attributed to NTI building critical files and features for BASE24 into DRNet® as standard product which is substantially reducing current and future expenses for arguably equivalent capabilities” said Tim Dunne, NTI’s Global Director, Worldwide Sales.

Returning to DRNet®/Kafka and DRNet®/Gateway, there is a very close working relationship NTI now has with Infrasoft that provides NTI customers with many more options as to where data needs to be replicated. The Infrasoft development team is well-known to NTI and the quality of the work goes unquestioned. The uLinga product suite has been subject to more than 15 years of development and enhancements across multiple network and services protocols and when the subject of tighter integration with Kafka arose, the uLinga product proved to be the most comprehensive offering available to the Nonstop community.

This relationship led to a very tight integration of DRNet® replication with uLinga/Kafka where the native APIs of uLinga Kafka became central to DRNet®’s ability to tap the capabilities of Kafka data streaming in a manner that eliminated any requirement for external accessibility servers. The philosophy of NTI to ensure simplicity together with superior performance made deeper cooperation between the two companies a natural extension of the way both Nonstop vendors prefer to pursue joint developments.

The big news? The first Nonstop customer to sign an agreement for DRNet®/Kafka is on its way with the prospect of more to follow as a result of the presentations and discussions that followed this week at E-BITUG. As for DRNet®/Gateway powered by uLinga, while this is a brand-new cooperative development for both Nonstop vendors, it is the expectation of both NTI and Infrasoft that follow-on presentations on deployment activities will be a much-anticipated highlight of this year’s TBC in Houston.

“It was encouraging to see the response that came from Nonstop Compute customers over the reliability of DRNet® when combined with uLinga Kafka,” said Tim Dunne, “we are witnessing the preference shifting from legacy synchronous web services to modern asynchronous event streaming services – a situation that DRNet® together with Infrasoft are addressing.”

The heat has definitely been turned up and you don’t need to look outside to determine the cause. The shimmering mirages appearing across parking lot black tops is evidence enough of the presence of summer’s heat. Inside enterprise data centers, the heat has been turned up. Former projects associated merely with maintaining the status quo have been supplanted by initiatives to better integrate AI – safely and securely. With the steps NTI has taken to assure the Nonstop community that it has options when it comes to data distribution, the most modern deliverable is now at hand. NTI has product and it has customers.

If you are considering to participate at September’s HPE Nonstop Technology and Business Conference, then make sure you find time to stop by NTI’s booth to hear more of where NTI is headed, whether it’s simply about getting off GoldenGate or perhaps, even more importantly, how your Nonstop Compute platform can better integrate with your enterprise IT and make a contribution to your agentic AI initiatives.

NTI will be a diamond sponsor with plans to end evenings with receptions as has happened at past TBC events – watch for further news in this regard as the date draws closer. We look forward to seeing you and be prepared; there will be more good news of customer commitments to NTI yet to come.

  • NTI provides support from direct sales and support teams complemented with support of major global partners and tools and utilities together with a growing ecosystem of partners and consultants.

To help better support our global customer base our expertise spans all major NonStop Server-based applications, yet DRNet® remains application independent so changing to a different database or application does not require changes to DRNet®. We are proud to have been a part of the Tandem / Compaq / HPE community since 1985 and an Alliance / Technology partner since 1992. Today, NTI is a Silver participant as a HPE Technology Partner.
