Marching to the sound of our own drummer!

TCM-belting it out at EBITUG

There are many ways Nonstop Compute vendors gain the attention of conference attendees. While other vendors may promote their giveaways and prizes, here at TCM we remain traditionalists. Not surprising then given our collective heritage that laying down a strip of green, providing putters, and tempting conference attendees to put a golf ball down the strip to a predefined spot, is a safe way to convey who we are while being a perfect ice-breaker for those not familiar with TCM. An opportunity, perhaps, to upgrade our skills? Timely striking the ball well, delivering it where it needs to be, is symbolic of the business ethics of TCM. Nonstop Compute customers are looking for managed services from a provider that can deliver, in place and on time!

This was all taking place while the Nonstop Compute community gathered for E-BITUG European Nonstop Symposium. As a Nonstop Compute vendor, committed to providing a number of managed services offerings, there is no product to talk about – well, almost none – but nevertheless, taking the concept of that lively conversation that often follows golfers who have just completed a hole, TCM hosting a mini-golf “tournament” has found similar conversations begin once the putting has been done.

Striking a golf ball was just one aspect of a highly enjoyable gathering of Nonstop Compute community members for this year’s E-BITUG. “Wow, what an amazing event; great footfall, refreshing networking and yes, a welcoming location,” said TCM’s Andy Vasey. “Following a tremendous gala event, the TCM team is now looking to where we could purchase Uilleann pipes, even as I opted to belt out a rhythm, on an Irish Bodhrán. With that said, the Nonstop Compute community shouldn’t expect a TCM quartet to form any time soon.”

As for TCM presentations at E-BITUG, we heard from Andy Vasey on how, with the TCM InSight product, the Nonstop Compute customer can indeed find out how they could do better. Through a series of dashboard displays and reports, delivering on the classic traffic light format of green for good, red for bad and orange for, well, room for improvement, TCM readily affords all Nonstop Compute customers an opportunity to think more deeply about how continuing to do things as they have always done may not be beneficial in today’s modern world of hybrid IT. “Yes, we are a managed services vendor but productizing our own tools and providing access to what we see is proving invaluable for our customers,” said Andy Vasey. “And we enjoy seeing skillsets being upgraded.”

From our own experiences, there may be frustrations along the way. When it comes to viewing the results produced by TCM InSight, it takes observation by experts. It takes analysis. It takes the desire to implement recommendations. Looking past the dashboard, reports go to TCM’s experienced staff for deeper analysis and further examination of all the inputs before recommendations are provided. Interestingly enough, further comparisons to golf come to mind.

As we pass the halfway mark of 2025 and the transition to a holiday atmosphere with many TCM team members taking advantage of the downtime that accompanies time away from work, it would be remiss of the TCM team not to talk about the conferences and events that have filled the pages of the calendars for 2025. Australia and OzTUG? Check! Canada and CTUG? Check! Ireland for E-BITUG? Check!

And there were others in the mix as well, but looking back at the distances covered, realization sets in that the Nonstop Compute customers are present in every corner of the globe and it continues to be an important aspect of TCM marketing to ensure all members of the Nonstop Compute community are fully briefed on every aspect of TCM’s managed services offerings. With numerous examples of how well TCM executes in various situations gives us confidence in being able to handle any situation a Nonstop Compute customer may find themselves facing; just call us!

TCM remains the largest European vendor focused solely on supporting the Nonstop Compute customer base. However, there have been a number of outliers where, for instance, we have provided services in such far-away lands as Australia. Not forgetting, of course, our recent quest into the wilds of Canada for CTUG! With the TCM team as knowledgeable on all things Nonstop Compute, we are now excited to see that our customers are looking forward to deploying the latest Nonstop Compute converged systems – the HPE Nonstop Compute NS9 X5 and NS5 X5 – where anticipation over how our Nonstop Compute customers will pursue migrations runs high.

For the TCM team, our participation at the next major event will be in Houston for the HPE Nonstop Technology & Business Conference, 2025. This continues to be the premier event showcasing the full suite of Nonstop Compute and independent vendor products and services portfolios. We may not see and hear the pipes and drums as we did in Dublin but we are bound to hear just as much positive noise coming from a community welcoming product roadmaps and customer testimonials.

We at TCM are really looking forward to this main event of the year for the Nonstop Compute community. “TBC, in Texas, is bound to be big!” said Andy Vasey. “Yet another great opportunity to catch up with old friends and to create new ones; remembering that strangers are the friends we haven’t met yet. There seems to be a buzz about this one, too, whether it’s because of the allure of a large sizzling steak or indeed a tasty tequila, that beckons, what we do know is that it’s going to present new ideas, new opportunities and new aspirations.”

For the months between TBC, and what we have come away with following E-BITUG, it is now down to planning and promoting. TCM will once again be hard to miss as we look to create those new relationships, we so enjoy pursuing. For TCM it will be yet one more long-haul flight but with an opportunity to see many more members of the Nonstop Compute community. Will we see you be there to enjoy your participation? We hope so as we are certain that for the Nonstop Compute community, our enjoyment will be shared as we all take time to upgrade our skills! Safe travels!
