From your NTI Marketing Team
There comes a time when the occasion overwhelms an audience, and the best description possible is momentous. Such was the situation at this year’s opening keynote presentation at HPE Discover in Las Vegas. Hewlett Packard Enterprise CEO Antonio Neri welcomed a crowd that was 18,500 seated. Still, it was a case of standing room only that ballooned the size of the audience to 20,000 – the maximum capacity of Las Vegas’s latest attraction, Sphere. With a direct connection from the convention center at the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas, it was only natural for the HPE marketing team to organize a session, and in so doing, it became the very first vendor to make such an appearance at the venue.
If heights frighten you, then Sphere may not be for you. The NTI marketing team present for HPE Discover was seated just two rows back from the very top of the auditorium’s vast array of seats; the initial thought was, would we see anything? However, seated as we were this high, those present from NTI looked straight on at the presentation, unlike their more esteemed colleagues sitting by the stage who spent the whole session straining their necks to view the presentations projected well above them. The assignment of seats seemed to prioritize HPE customers, and as NonStop vendors, NTI was granted customer status.
However, before commenting further on this conference, it was the second time NTI addressed a gathering of the NonStop community. With less than a week turnaround between events, the pressure was on to deliver a fresh storyline to the BITUG NonStop community gathered in London. As many of the NonStop community members travel to events worldwide, the storyline couldn’t simply be a repetition of what was provided at the recent pan-European event in Berlin, nor could it be a remix of what was presented in Denver at last year’s NonStop TBC 2024. Instead, participating in this year’s BITUG Big SIG event gave those present a sneak peek of the storyline being developed for the NonStop TBC 2024 conference to be held in September.
NTI continues to support Regional User Group (RUG) events at the highest possible sponsorship level. With BITUG Big SIG, it was again a case of stepping up and contributing with networking and coffee breaks sponsored by NTI. It’s an essential element of NonStop conferences and events that would not be possible without strong support from a vibrant NonStop vendor community through the various working committees. And yes, when it comes to NonStop TBC 2024, we have to pass on a special appreciation thanks as the vendor community continues to work overtime to support a global network of NonStop community users.
Europe continues to provide many opportunities for NTI with its latest big win over competitive offerings (including those from the HPE NonStop sales team), which catalyzes further conversations with the community. When you look at vendors’ strategies such as NTI, it isn’t so much its strategy but instead recognizing and working with the NonStop customer’s strategies. This has become an important element in the NTI business planning process, and what has come to the attention of the NTI team is how the focus has never left data. By this, NTI’s main driver is to ensure data freshly created on NonStop is put to use where it is needed most.
Capitalizing on the properties of Change Data Capture (CDC), the comprehensive deployment of intercept libraries, and the support of various data log files means the DRNet® product portfolio can meet all the data needs of NonStop customers. It is often overlooked how DRNet® requires no prereqs or co-reqs as it handles both TMF and non-TMF-protected data. This simplifies migrations, which have become a priority for many NonStop users anxious to part ways with Oracle and their GoldenGate offering.
Following the recent win in EMEA with the latest member of the DRNet® product portfolio, DRNet®/Unified for GoldenGate Conversion, the NonStop community can anticipate hearing much more of this at NonStop TBC 2024. Whereas other vendors might be looking to complement their offerings with other cute technologies for technology’s sake, NTI remains consistent. While competitors may be in freefall and be tempted to grab hold of a passing bird to lessen the impact of their fall, this is not the case for NTI, as it remains dedicated to your growing demands to access the data created on NonStop. And yes, AI is coming, as we all heard at HPE Discover 2024, and this will yet be another case of absorbing, adapting, and transforming.
Whereas HPE Discover 2024 was a major marketing event for HPE and before that, BITUG Big SIG an opportunity to deliver insights into the NonStop business as it continues to grow across the EMEA marketplace, the opportunity to provide a first glimpse of where NTI is headed could not have been missed. Yes, the focus is on data, and getting data where it is needed most is at the center of all that NTI pursues within the NonStop marketplace. No dilution of messaging or customer support has taken place, and just as many frameworks, utilities, and models are being emphasized for the NonStop community, these represent little more than potential nice-to-haves. Technicians driving technologies have never fully realized value for the NonStop community.
The subject of business resilience will resonate within all the presentations first unveiled in full at the BITUG Big SIG. It’s a way to differentiate NonStop vendors and begs the question of NonStop customers: Are you doing enough to ensure your vendor and its product portfolio can meet your current and future needs? Has your NonStop vendor demonstrated their ability to absorb change, adapt accordingly, and transform it to where it is topical in all that it represents? Today, it’s a highly competitive landscape, and the NonStop customer is always the winner, but is their chosen product a true winner focused on their NonStop requirements? Already, though, from those coming to NTI, the investment in itself and the community is reaping the rewards.
Following BITUG Big SIG and HPE Discover, the NTI marketing team headed to Monterey to examine the venue for NonStop TBC 2024. Based on what the Hyatt Regency Monterey events team promoted, this looks to be a perfect venue. So much so that you may not find any reason to leave the campus and, yes, a campus it truly is. The plan for the NonStop 50th Golden Anniversary Celebration to shuttle attendees between the hotel Conference Center and the Monterey Bay Aquarium seems sound, and this venue will surely be a place to remember as NonStop celebrates its fiftieth year. Again, NTI participates as one of four Golden 50th Anniversary Sponsors.
Look for further updates from NTI regarding their chosen venue for evening gatherings at NonStop TBC – the poolside garden Spyglass Suite: Ground Floor Room 508–510. Situated adjacent to the pool and spa, it’s just a short walk from the Hyatt Regency hotel restaurant, past the BBQ fire pit, and into the first campus building. There will be opportunities to network over late-night hot and cold hors d’oeuvres and adult beverages each night. If you remember the support NTI gave the NonStop community each night during NonStop TBC 2023 in Denver, then you can expect to be treated similarly this year. And yes, another special call-out to the Connect team, who worked with us to make this happen without impacting the event’s major activities.
