ETI-NET wears many hats, but these hats all say the same thing: greater alignment with HPE and the NonStop team

Industry and vendor conferences always prove attractive to those who have invested in the solutions. It’s as if no IT professionals want to miss out on an opportunity to learn something new. Following a number of NonStop customer briefings as well as numerous regional user group events, it became clear that the NonStop product portfolio was about to become even more diversified.  As for a NonStop customer, they will have a greater choice of how to deploy NonStop and how best to consume applications.

It has now become very clear that NonStop product management will have to wear many hats as with the delivery of NonStop converged, or traditional, systems, NonStop deployment on an enterprise private cloud, and even a presence of NonStop within public clouds; these choices are going to need considerable flexibility, a reflection of no one size will fit all!

Of these regional user group events, it is the annual NonStop TBC Conference, where attendees are drawn from around the globe, and this year, NonStop TBC 2024 proved doubly important. Celebrating upcoming new NonStop deliverables was important for the NonStop customer but this year’s conference also became an opportunity for all of the NonStop community to gather to celebrate fifty years of NonStop, formerly known as Tandem Computers.

As the premier provider of products protecting NonStop data, ETI-NET continues to keep pace with the ever-evolving threat vectors and industry compliance requirements through new modernization and resilient Backup solutions. It is becoming even more known as a solution for Data Management at the system and application level. “When you look back at our history, we have always maintained a deep knowledge of NonStop APIs, data migration, protection, and overall NonStop performance,” said Mike Mitsch, ETI-NET Director, Business Development.

“When you look back at our history, we have always worn multiple hats as we continued to meet customer requirements, whether it was with MultiBatch that now has our enhanced MultiBatch security auditing features, the recently added Sentinel Data Storage Services, along with our traditional backup and restore offerings featuring ETI-NET’s BackBox® and QoreStor® now supporting multiple levels of immutability,” said Mike Mitsch.

The presentations given to the attendees at NonStop TBC 2024 were a mix of low-level technical sessions and higher-level overviews of the complete ETI-NET product portfolio. All presentations were well attended. “While we switched hats a couple of times as we moved between presentations, our message was the same: modernization and protection.,” said Mike Mitsch. “We firmly believe that without an evolving backup and system modernization and protection strategy, NonStop deployments remain at risk not only from bad actors but also auditors that seek to minimize cybersecurity risk. That continues to anchor our strategy just as it remains the primary member within our product portfolio.”

Through ETI-NET’s strategic partnership with HPE, we can provide data and management solutions aligned with the NonStop product management team’s requirements, such as with the integrated VTC with QoreStor® storage and customized through the SDI and GreenLake programs. “NonStop customers can choose to purchase in many ways; as such, it is important to our customers that they can secure ETI-NET products and services in the model that meets their requirements.  We have and will continue to deliver flexibility tothe  NonStop market to realize the full potential of our product portfolio”.

With a comprehensive portfolio of NonStop products, ETI-NET’s BackBox® and QoreStor®, Sentinel, MultiBatch, C-Deep, and MQ Gate goes a long way too to ensure NonStop customers can benefit from standardized support and unmatched interoperability, through the purchasing and contracting mechanism that meets their needs.

Participation in Non-stop events creates opportunities for ETI-NET to open conversations with multiple  NonStop-related organizations. This year, NonStop TBC 2024 proved to be no exception. One moment, we are wearing the traditional hat of a consultant talking to a NonStop customer, and the next, we swap hats and become pure business development representatives looking to add additional partners to our ecosystem. Then, too, is the need to take off our hats to engage with HPE NonStop executives and to socialize potential new opportunities.

What takeaways did we appreciate following NonStop TBC 2024?  The commitment made by HPE executives to the success of NonStop, ongoing processing architecture resiliency advancements shown by HPE Spaceborne computers, and continuous alignment with the enhanced NIST 2.0 Cybersecurity Framework were key takeaways. Listening to Casey Taylor VP & GM, HPE NonStop, Compute, High Performance Computing & Artificial Intelligence has proved hard to ignore. Her demonstration of improved business performance is going a long way in convincing IT executives of the longer-term viability of NonStop.

New customers, new partnerships, new products, a commitment to industry standards, and support for plug-and-play reference models are all tangible evidence that the modernization of NonStop is well underway. It was a pleasure for us to be a participant, speaker, and sponsor, and we trust that you left this conference as upbeat about the future of NonStop as we did.
