Whenever conferences or events are scheduled, there is considerable energy expended on their promotion. Organizers reach out to vendors while together they launch marketing programs to better promote and then attract candidate participants.

As many of us focus on celebrations over the next few months, with Thanksgiving next week and Christmas, I thought reflecting over the year would also be good.

On 22 June 2021, BITUG held their popular ‘Little SIG’. This is a single-day event specifically targeting the UK Nonstop community, and usually includes a number of customer and vendor presentations as well as the latest HPE Roadmap.

It is with a certain amount of sadness we have to announce the retirement of Neil Barnes from the Nonstop Community. Neil has been a stalwart of the BITUG Chapter for over 25 years having been Chair on numerous occasions. Neil is a long-term advocate of Nonstop having worked both on the platform with a software house and also Lloyds Bank.
