The Nonstop Technology & Business Conference 2026 (Nonstop TBC 2026) will be over as you read this article. From NTI’s perspective, supporting the event through a Diamond Sponsorship program, where multiple session presentations were delivered, we might have been witness to significant changes ahead for Nonstop. The HPE Nonstop team roadmaps likely highlighted that investments in Nonstop continue even as new vertical markets look likely to be addressed.
What will not have changed is the trajectory of NTI, a company focused on data movement and on the principles of modernization. Nonstop customers will be looking to NTI for support of the latest waves of change – the increasing importance of AI access to Nonstop data – and this will have been covered in our Nonstop TBC 2026 session presentations. What will not have changed will have been NTI’s continued commitment to replication. What will have changed is how a powerful capability such as data replication can be enhanced to support the interaction with AI and AI Clients, including those from OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude), Microsoft (Copilot), Google (Gemini) and others, now coming to market.
Strategically, NTI’s focus remains on modernization coupled with a low-risk, non-disruptive, evolution of NTI’s own DRNet® core subsystem. What we have witnessed firsthand was Nonstop customers’ desire for a strong, stable and secure foundation. The journey that looks to deliver a supportive framework for AI engagement started much earlier. Change Data Capture (CDC) methodology, when used in support of data replication for business continuity now position its adherents to better deliver fresh data to AI models, whether local or global.
With its support of underlying CDC protocols and services, our support for AI is pursued with an eye on the journey of our Nonstop customers. That’s the most important consideration today. When NTI asked our DRNet® customers about the likely impact of AI on their Nonstop system, interest was often expressed, but a collective reluctance to jump right in became just as apparent.
And yet, increasingly, across the industry the same question keeps surfacing: “Why isn’t the data on our Nonstop accessible to our AI?” Enterprises increasingly can’t afford AI that works from stale data, and the pressure to open Nonstop to modern AI clients is mounting. AI isn’t practical where batches arrive and where near real-time is as good as it gets.
The mandate will come. Fresh data created on Nonstop will be required to show itself to AI. With uLinga Nexus, Nonstop customers will have a robust solution that can initiate participation immediately. Where this journey is now taking Nonstop customers, as the requirement to support AI isn’t a grounds-up development but rather a top-down requirement. Make it so, seems to be the business mantra today.
When it was first muted that Nonstop applications could be accessed from the internet using protocols and services including HTTP, XML and SOAP, the initial reaction coming from Nonstop customers was, “not on my watch!” Today, however, the predominant access model to all things Nonstop related is an internet browser. For NTI, the advent of AI is just another milestone along the IT journey eventually delivering a ubiquity similar to browsers but via Chatbots, AI agents and the overseer and orchestrator, agentic AI.
While today, NTI moves the data that moves your business and, in doing so, simplifies modernization efforts, assists with migration from legacy applications, DRNet® provides a foundation for accepting the real-world transformation that we are now seeing with AI!
What the Nonstop community will have heard during Nonstop TBC 2026 is what NTI can deliver today. Building on our partnership with Infrasoft and our prior Kafka data‑streaming work, we recently added uLinga Nexus product to the DRNet® product portfolio which will provide an AI‑ready enablement layer over DRNet®.
Using standard REST APIs and Model Context Protocol (MCP), your preferred AI client – ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini, or your own – can work with live Nonstop data, running natively on Nonstop without any changes to your applications. At TBC we have explained how NTI can demonstrate real, working connectivity between Nexus and DRNet®, and are positioned to show how you open that access on your own terms. NTI has infrastructure in place for enhanced testing.
What likely occurred at this year’s Nonstop TBC 2026 is that the expression, not on my watch, will have receded, replaced with watch this space! Well-known for taking incremental steps when addressing the arrival of new technology, and the arrival of AI is perhaps the biggest technology disruption we have experienced so far and will ever witness again, the Nonstop community will be looking at partners invested in the technology, building product that can be deployed today, and that are participating in a partner ecosystem designed to accelerate the delivery of meaningful products.
