Nonstop Trends and Wins

It was great to return to SunTUG in Tampa. John Vollers provided the HPE Nonstop roadmap and direction presentation which was very well received. The accommodations at the Aloft Hotel were very good and the view from the conference room was outstanding. From my standpoint it was good to catch up with customers and partners and my impression was that this was a valuable event in terms of both networking and information exchange. Besides HPE, presentations were given by ETI-NET, Xypro, NuWave, Omni, Comforte and Gravic.

This got me thinking about the TBC coming up in nearby Orlando this coming September. The name has changed from the Technical Boot Camp to the Technology and Business Conference, carefully preserving TBC as the acronym. We did have a few business talks at the previous conference, and the intent is to expand on the business side without impacting the technical content of the conference. Many, but not all customers are financial. To that end would presentations on Payment trends be of interest? Would a broader FSI directions presentation be of interest? Both? We are in the planning stages for this year’s conference and for me, business talks are based around trends, directions, markets and futures. On the one hand we have consultants such as Gartner, IDC, Forrester, etc. HPE also has partnerships with implementors such as Deloitte, Accenture and the like. Of course, there are individual influencers that also provide directions regarding computing futures. So, would presentations and perspectives from Gartner/IDC be of interest or do Deloitte and Accenture have more clout? If there is an Influencer you follow, who would that be?

Besides these, we have the major trend of AI which seems to have all the industry’s focus at the moment. Would presentations on AI, even if general and not specific to Nonstop be of business interest to TBC attendees?

I’m very interested in your opinions on this topic. My email is justin.simonds@hpe.com and if you have thoughts on the business topics you’d like to see at this year’s TBC I would love to hear your ideas.
